The Science of Consciousness Conference 2025

Barcelona SPAIN -  July 6-11, 2025

The Science of Consciousness (TSC) conference, the world's longest-running interdisciplinary gathering on consciousness studies, will return to Barcelona from July 7-10, 2025. This landmark event brings together leading researchers and theorists exploring fundamental questions about consciousness, awareness, and the nature of reality.

The conference will open with a historic plenary session on "Consciousness and Reality" featuring renowned physicist Sir Roger Penrose, followed immediately by William Brown of the International Space Federation (ISF). Brown's groundbreaking work spans biophysics, molecular biology, and genetics, offering novel insights into how biological systems may interface with fundamental information fields at the quantum scale. His research suggests revolutionary new mechanisms of memory in biological systems, coupling with spacetime geometric networks, that could lead to pivotal advances in understanding scale-free biological cognitive systems and the development of advanced information processing systems.

Among the keynote presentations, Nassim Haramein, Director of Research at the ISF, will deliver a groundbreaking session demonstrating quantum spacetime vibrations coupling from the proton scale to neurons and the brain in the plenary session on consciousness and vibrations in spacetime geometry. Other distinguished presenters include Ivette Fuentes, Thomas Brophy and Santosh Helekar examining consciousness and quantum measurement; and Philip Kurian, Dante Lauretta and Anita Goel discussing quantum biology and superradiance.

The four-day program includes fourteen plenary sessions covering diverse topics from quantum biology and psychedelics to artificial intelligence and extraterrestrial consciousness. Notable speakers include Farhan Lakhany and Anirban Bandyopadhyay discussing AI and biomimetic quantum computing; Earl K. Miller, Matthew Larkum and Sabine Kastner exploring brain oscillations and nested scales; and Robert Lawrence Kuhn, Nao Tsuchiya and Stuart Hameroff presenting theories of consciousness.

The conference concludes with sessions on end-of-life brain activity with Marjorie Woollacott, Alex Gomez-Marin and Jimo Borjigin; energy and information in consciousness featuring Rupert Sheldrake and Dean Radin; non-local consciousness with David del Rosario, Laxmidhar Behara and Javier Sierra; prospects for extraterrestrial consciousness with Ross Coulthart and Brannon Wheeler; and quantum fields and consciousness featuring Deepak Chopra, Donald Hoffman and Federico Faggin.

Beyond the main program, the conference will feature concurrent sessions, workshops, exhibits, demonstrations, social events, and a poetry slam. It will be followed by the Festival of Consciousness from July 11-13, where Nassim Haramein will deliver another keynote address as part of the experiential sessions focused on music, art, inspiration, spirituality, education, business and evolution.

The conference will be held at the AC Forum Marriott in Barcelona. For registration and more information, contact center@arizona.edu. This gathering represents a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge theories and research on consciousness, particularly through perspectives that bridge quantum physics, biology, and studies of awareness and mind.

The conference will be held at the AC Hotel Barcelona Forum, with the Festival of Consciousness taking place at an adjacent venue. This combination of academic conference and public festival creates an unprecedented opportunity for both specialists and the general public to explore the frontiers of consciousness research.
